Thousands of students on Wednesday took to social media platform Twitter asking the Telangana govt for cancellation of the university examinations in the state. These students are seeking promotion without exams as well.
The educational institutions across the country have been shut since March 2020 due to the nationwide lockdown enforced to stop the spread of COVID-19. Many schools and colleges have shifted to online classes and open-book exams.
Telangana students, however, wants the exams to be cancelled due to safety concerns amid the coronavirus outbreak. The TOI Hyderabad on Wednesday created a poll on its Twitter handle asking students about “What should be the plan for pending university exams in #Telangana?”

Speaking about the university examinations, Sriram Venkatesh, controller of examination, Osmania University, said, “All eyes are on the SSC exams that will be held in the state over the next few days. If the SSC exams are conducted smoothly, we will also conduct the exams by June end or July first week. We cannot issue degrees to final year students without conducting exams. And if we conduct exams for final year students, we can do the same for other students as well.” Adding further he said that a decision in this regard will also be taken in a standing committee meeting scheduled on June second week.
